    the Village.
There is no river running into it, but there is a stream running out of it called the mill-race.
Mullagh lake covers about eighty statute acres of land, and there are two Islands in it which covers abut one statute acre and they go under the name of the "Crow Islands". The crows always build their nests in the trees on the Islands and they are quite safe there.
There was an old mill in the townland and a man named O'Reilly was caught by the revenue police (they were called Yeomen) making poteen and there was an Act of Parliament that if you were at the building of a mill you would get off with a very small fine. O'Reilly wanted to get the benefit of that Act but he had not really been at the building of the mill. He took down a small wall, carried out the stones and got some sand and lime and carried them back in, and built the wall again. He did this before he was tried. Then he swore he was at the building of the wall and he got off with a very small fine.
There is a small wood on Mullagh Hill called the Fox cover. It covers about two statute acres Reynard hides there, till he gets a chance to go round to get his breakfast of poultry at the expense of the farmer's wife.
It is the only wood in the townland and people say they would have on hiding place, and their fowl would be safe.
