    A scene contrasting with sad days, which Ireland has gone through.
    The Dublin boys, all dressed in blue, appeared like the giants of old.
    But each Limerick gael, stepped up to the line with the pluck of a Sarsfield bold.

    A holy bishop threw in the ball, amongst the gallant gaels.
    All eyes are focused on the pitch. the game is on the scales.
    The bookie challenge taken up, the sterling freely flowed.
