The walls of the chapel are to be seen still. People used to come from very long distances there to hear mass. The priest used to cross the Rathravane river going to the chapel. One Sunday morning the flood was very high in the river. The priest was on a saddle horse, and when he was crossing the river the flood knocked the horse and the priest was drowned. He was found in a field near the river a little further down. The field is called Páirc an tSagairt ever since.
