Ar an leathanach seo
- People were married in their homes long ago. The priest used to celebrate mass at the bride's homes in the morning and then the marriage took place. Then all those present with the bride and bridegroom and priest had breakfast. After that all the company went for a drive while dinner was being prepared. The bride and bridegroom were seated in a covered car drawn by one horse which headed the drive. The driver sat in a seat on the top of the car. When the dinner was eaten they started to amuse themselves by dancing and singing and playing music. They used also have "a half tierce" of porter and whiskey and wine.
The usual time for getting married in this district is Shrove. People do not get married in Advent or Lent. The old people say that it is unlucky to get married on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
