  1. The snipes are wild brown birds which live in the bogs and marshy places. He is about the size of a black-bird and has a long beak. He does not migrate. He builds his nest near a stream so that the young ones can feed when they come out. The nest is usually built on a bank. When the young ones come out the old one cast the nest into the stream and takes care of them for some time. Not like the other birds they separate when they are able to fly. They feed at night and rest in the day.

  2. A grouse has a very plump body. She has reddish brown feathers. This bird has a very strong bill because she has to break hard seeds and other things.
    In winter and spring she heats heather seeds and young grass in summer and moor berries in autumn.
    She builds her nest near a marsh because when the young ones come out they can drink the water. Nine to ten eggs she lays and after sitting on the eggs twenty three days the young ones come out. All this flock stay together until some of them are shot by the sportsmen, then they scatter. Long ago these birds were very valuable to the Irish people because gentlemen came from foreign
