  1. (continued from previous page)
Three boys went hunting on a May morning. One of the boys noticed a girl skimming the dew. He went and told the other boys. The three boys followed the girl; when they came near her she disappeared. They knew then that she was a Piseóg woman for carring butter.
It is believed that if you put eggs into a cock of hay, that farmer would have bad luck for the year.
There was a farmer in Brosna who had a lot of cows. One morning when he got up he found a sling outside in the shed. He looked around and he saw that no cow had calved during the night. His wife was a very clever woman. He went in and told her and she went to the priest and told him her story. The priest went to the house and he blessed the stable and the cows. He said that the person that did that would never have a day's luck.
