- In our district feast are observed in a special manner, as they occur each year.
For instance St. Brigid's Eve young people go around from house to house collecting money in her name. With this money they buy refreshments and hold a dance.
On St. Patrick's day people wear shamrocks and some a harp and some a green ribbon.
On Chalk Sunday, the first Sunday after Shrove, any young man of a marriageable age who didn't get married during Shrove was chalked going into Mass.
On May day they go around the town with the May-pole gathering money.
On St. John's Eve bon-fires are lighted in honours of St. John.
St. Martin's day is teh last day for eating blackberries for it is said that the Devil spits on them.
Halloween is called snap-apple night; Children play lot of games with apples on that night.
On St. Stephen's Day children go around with decorated bushes singing the Wren song.
