Mr. Reidy (grandson of Jerry Reidy aged 86 - still alive) says:-
"The used also dye cotton in the country with Mac-a-wee. (2. 2.) and blackening:"
He is the only pupil who has given this. - Michael Reidy mentioned in (i) above says:-

- This district of Ballymacelligott is an extensive fertile grassy district - much more suitable for grass and pasture than for crops, & from olden times it must be remarkable for the excellence of its milk. Even at the present day there are 3 creameries in it. Some time ago there were 5. showing that dairying and milk-producing rank first among its main industries Milk at present is taken to creameries but we must(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
