    In the year 1877 there lived adjoining my present home a man named Paddy Preston.

Shortly after he had retired to rest, the kettle commenced to boil furiously and no matter where he removed the kettle to in the kitchen it still continued to boil. My great grandfather was a well educated man, and having spent a lot of his time with his brother Fr. Michael Flynn, he immediately questioned the kettle, and when the light of the morn came, my grandmother and grandfather came up from their room as during the night they were afraid and
