- Saint Morgan is traditionally connected with Kilmorgan district. The ruins of the Church that history connects with him still exist. He had a monastery there. There is a well called Saint Morgan's well near the Church and natives say that Saint Morgan's monks drew water from the well. The well is still to be seen in Mr Mullen's land about 100 yards from Kilmorgan graveyard.
There was a man called Morgan McDonagh living in Kilmorgan and some of his people took part in the battle of the Curlews while Red Hugh O'Donnell's men were engaged in the skirmish on the Red Earl's Road which was the first road made in Connaught. The Earl's Road passes through Mr Savage's land in Lug.na.Cacha near Kilmorgan graveyard. There is a ditch on either side of this historic road and(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
