    In the year 1877 there lived adjoining my present home a man named Paddy Preston.

    afterwards, a neighbour came and tapped on the window and informed them that he had just departed.
    The funeral was over all things normal, but in our present home all things were not normal. On the very night after the funeral, the noise started and continued until one night about a fortnight after the funeral, when my great grandfather who was sleeping in the kitchen had an exciting experience. Shortly after he had retired to rest, the kettle commenced to boil furiously and no matter where he removed the kettle to in the kitchen it still continued to boil. My great grandfather was a well educated man, and having spent a lot of his time with his brother Fr. Michael Flynn, he immediately questioned the kettle, and when the light of the morn came, my grandmother and grandfather came up from their room as during the night they were afraid and
