   Once upon a time there was a battle fought in Baile-na0Gaoithe. The blood of the slain flowed into a Turloch. This is now called Turloch na Fola.

   There is a well in Uarán beag which is called the Fish Pond. People saw a woman sitting on a stone and when they went near her she raised the stone and went under it. She would not be seen again until they went a considerable distance.

   One time there was a woman and she had a child. One night the fairies came and took the child away. They left a fairy child instead of the woman's child. The woman was ignorant of this.
   A thatcher was thatching and the woman went to the well leaving the baby in an old-fashioned cradle. He was five or six years old, but was unable to walk.
