There used to be a fair held out in Achawheel hill. This fair was held beside Achawheel loch behind Glen hill near Sledrin Glen.
There used to be a meeting held at Achawheel loch too. - In olden times there was a fair in a place called Black Mountain and the men would take sheep and cows and horses. If a sheep was been sold the man that owned the sheep would put red paint on it for a mark. Some people clips the side of the wool of the sheep to mark them. Sometimes a man could tie a bit of cloth on the cows horn to mark his cow. In olden times there was a fair at Shandrum cross roads.
