  1. There is a field on the road between Ballyshannon and Belleek. In this field there are two trees which are situated opposite each other and are equal distances from the centre of it. This place was the field where there was a duel fought. One of the men was said to be a Frenchman. Both men are buried in the graveyard of St Ann’s church. The particulars are inscribed on the tombstone.
