  1. One day while I was visiting in a neighbour’s house the woman of the house came in. She had been in town shopping. Among the things she bought was a queer looking object. It was like a cup that narrowed at the top. Out of the top of it was a bit of cloth. The woman took off the top of it and put it in oil then she put on the top again. I asked her what the thing was and she told me it was an oil lamp] That was seventy years ago and the first time I saw an oil lamp.
