- Forges are very useful to us because in them the smiths shoe our horses. They work in the open when they are ironing wheels. They make the fire outside when they are shoeing horses.
In big forges there are often two fires and two smiths. There are two forges in this parish. The name of the smith working in them are John Casey and Pat Cantillon.
