  1. Long ago there was a great big castle in Ballyheigue. That castle was owned by the Crosbies and it was attacked many times. Once there was a big slip full of petrol came into Ballyheigue bay, and they carried it up to the castle and threw it all over the castle and they set fire to it. This castle was burned.
    This was in the time of the war with black and tans. There was another big building called the coast guard station and it was burned down the same time.
