  2. John Cotters of Barnagrove was an nailmaker. He made nails for boots and shoes. He is not now living or any of his faimly, and no sign of his house is now to be seen.
    He bought the nail rod and heated it in the fire. Then he put the hot iron into a mould which shaped it into nails.
    He was so good at his trade that people even came from Carrickmacroos and Ardee as well as the people around to have nails made for their boots.
