  1. A man who lived in Kyle maned John Cosgrave was coming home from Wexford town on a wet stormy Christmas Eve night. The night was so dark that the man lost his way and walked into the Slaney at FerryCarrig. After a week's search the man was found a short distance from the bridge caught by some boughs that were floating. This happened in the month of December in the year 1926.
