    Hidden Treasure
In olden times Treasure was hidden in old places. There were crocks of gold and money hidden. There was a man who heard there was money hidden in his garden. When morning came he and another man began to dig and after a long time they found a box and a slate up by the front of it.
There was no money in it but there were iron bars in it.
There is a cave in Castle-Sow and there was money found several times there. It was found by Miss Carty Castle-Sow in an old cave. One day Miss Carty was picking sticks around an old moate and she picked up a bag of money. These caves are opened every seven years. Not many people find treasure.
The above was told to me by
    Miss S. Barry. Coolmain (Oylegate
    Winnie Kavanagh,
    Oylegate.
    P.S.
Castle Sow is in Crossabeg Parish a few miles from Oylegate J.B.
