  2. Care of the Farm Animals

    The farm animals consists of the cow, horse, sheep, pigs, calves and the donkey. The domestic animals consist of the cat, and the dog. The cowhouse is a big house with a manger for putting hay in for the cows. There are two stakes standing beside the manger, and the cows are tied by chains to them. The cowhouse is called the Byre. The cows were never tied by the legs or horns. The tyings are chains. Palm is hung in the cow house to bring luck on the stock. When you have finished milking you are supposed to put a cross of milk on the cows hip and say "God bless and save you"
