    Local Marriage Customs.
    Marriages mostly take place before Shrove Tuesday. Many is considered an unlucky month for marriages. Thursday and Saturday are said to be unlucky days on which to get married. Pancakes are made in every house and rings put in them on Shrove Tuesday. Money and goods are given as dowry in some parts where the people are sick. Marriages never took place in the houses in this district. Everyone in the household has a holiday on the wedding day and sport goes on. There is a wedding feast held. There are no processions only where there are sick people and sometimes their servants.
