- Unknown treasure is supposed to be hidden in a cave near Ballinlough lake. It is said that it was put there by a man named Reilly. He put it there to protect it against Cromwell. Sir Hugh Nugent has made attempts to unearth it but did not succeed. It consists of a small amount of gold and silver and plenty of ammunition.
