Two fairly big lumps of paper are then wet and one is put in each end of the stick with the hole in it. The nine inch stick is pushed in one end and one of the papers comes out with a "pop".
TopsTops are made by getting a spool and shaping it like a bough top with a knife or chisel. An old pen handle is then stuck into it and pointed. I made one and it is nearly as good as a bought one.
Bird-cradleBird-cradles are made from elder in the shape of a pyramid. One stick is put on top of another and so on. The sticks are then bound tightly. They are used for trapping birds
SnaresThese are made from thin wire in the shape of a cowboys lasso. They are set in front of a rabbit hole. When the rabbit comes out it tightens on him and he is caught.
