  1. There are six Forts in my district.
    Four of them are situated on Col. Farrell's land, three in the townland of Waterstown, with only one field separating them, and the other in the townland of Rathmanoe. Another one is situated in the townland of Salford and the sixth in the townland of Redbog.
    Four of them are in prominent positions on the top of high hills and in view of each other.
    Each of them is composed of a large mound around the outside of which there are a good number of trees growing.
    Then there is a deep trench, and then a large mound in the centre.
    None of the owners ever interfered with them to my knowledge except to cut trees on them.
