  1. An Old Cave
In Mr Patrick Harrington's land at Knocknakillardy, about three miles from Ardfinnan School, there is a cave and people say that a crock of gold is hidden there. Men of the district went to look for it about four years ago. Three men dug around the cave and they said they found three rooms. They made enquiries, then and old man in Newcastle told them that it was a passage running from Knocknakillardy to Newcastle .
