    Bruises:
    The only treatment that does any good is to bathe the injured part with cold water - the colder the better - to check the diffusion of the blood through the tissues.
    The part should be kept as still as possible and not be rubbed.
    Insect bites and stings:
    Remove the sting. Squeeze and suck wound. Neutralise poison with strong liquid, ammonia, or apply spirits of wine or blue to the sting of a bee.
