  1. Some years ago Mrs Dore sent her son to set the wheat in the garden. The seed was sown.
    As spring advanced the crop promised to thrive. One day the son noticed a mound of earth in the middle of the wheat. The boy went down to examine it. There he found buried in the mound a calf's head. As time passed the once thriving crop failed and no wheat was cur in that garden.
