  1. There is no home-spinning done in our locality, now a days when people sell their wool they often get blankets and thread from the firm they sell in to.
    In one home (Mrs Julia O'Grady Ballyea) spinning, for the family needs only, is carried on. Mrs O'Grady is between 70 and 80 years of age. One of the Duxtown school children (of the Folklore hunters) took her photo a few days ago. The carders for the wool are laid on the stool. Her machine is in perfect condition for it is in use every winter.
