  1. About 50 years ago James Casey of Ballyea was coming from a fair that was in Rathkeale and it was about 12 o clock in the night and as he was coming up by Heffernan's fort he saw the two foot ball team's coming out of the fort and starting play. He stayed watching them until it was 4 o clock in the morning and when he went across the field to go home the teams disappeared.
