- (continued from previous page)There are eighteen families in the townland of Knockeenacurrig and eighty people living in it. The most of the houses are thatched and the remainder is slated. The meaning of Knockeenacurrig is the little hill of the swamp. There are not any ruins of old houses in the townland. The townland of Knockeenacurrig is not mentioned in any song. Some of the land is hilly and some boggy. There is not any wood growing in the townland. There are two or three streams running through the townland.
- Dromscarra is very hilly. It is very good land. Dromscarra wood is small and very few trees grow in it. The Araglen is a very big river and it flows through Dromscarra, there is also a little stream flowing through it. It is said that Domhnall a' Casga jumped from the top of the wood across the river and his pot of gold fell into a swamp. There is a cave in the wood where he lived. There are ten houses in Dromscarra and about 30 people. Most of the houses are slated with a few exceptions. There is not any(continues on next page)
