- There was a big storm in the year 1839. The people could not go to bed at all the night of that great storm; they had to remain standing with their backs to the doors to keep them shut. A man had put thatch on his house a short time before this storm and it was all blown off again that night.
There was a big snowstorm about the year 1891 and any car could not travel on it for some time. During this time a man died and he could not be removed to the burying ground for about five or six days. There was a very big rainfall about Christmas in the year 1891, but it did not do any harm in my district.
