    Outside the Ardrum Demesne wall, in a field now in the possession of Joseph O' Callaghan, Ballyanly, Inniscarra, Co. Cork, is buried a member of the Colthurst family, which accounts for the fact that the field is known as the The Tomb Field.

    challenged Colthurst to a duel with the result that Colthurst was shot dead. This was apparently what he had planned and wished for so as to save his land from being forfeited.
    This is the member of the Colthurst family that is supposed to be buried outside the Ardrum Demesne wall in a field now called the Tomb Field in the possession of Joseph O'Callaghan, Ballyanly, Inniscarra. He was nicknamed "The Ridire Liath[?]

    Hundreds of years ago a Fr. O' Callaghan Parish Priest of Inniscarra was given a house to live in by the Colthursts who had by now learned to respect priests.
