   challenged Colthurst to a duel with the result that Colthurst was shot dead. This was apparently what he had planned and wished for so as to save his land from being forfeited.
   This is the member of the Colthurst family that is supposed to be buried outside the Ardrum Demesne wall in a field now called the Tomb Field in the possession of Joseph O'Callaghan, Ballyanly, Inniscarra. He was nicknamed "The Ridire Liath[?]

   Hundreds of years ago a Fr. O'Callaghan, Parish Priest, of Inniscarra was given a house to live in by the Colthursts who had by now learned to respect priests. This house was inside the Demesne wall on the Ballyanly - Ardrum Road, Inniscarra, Co. Cork, and the position of the entrance gate in the Demesne wall can still be pointed out. It was even said that they lost to his burial. This priest is buried in Aghina graveyard, Killinardrish, Co. Cork, and people for miles around come to 'pay rounds' at his grave,
