  1. The landlord in this district was Mr Pool. His family were in the district for about two hundred years. He was a fairly good man. There were a few evictions in this district. The evicted people lived in tents by the roadside. The landlord had power to punish the people in the district. They were collected by the Proctors of the Protestant Church.
    They were collected in both money and kind. Battles were fought on account of the high rent and the tithes especially after the Catholic Emancipation act.
