    twisted. It was the rubbing of the two stones against each other that ground the flour. This is done at the present day.
    They also planted their potatoes in a different way. They used to turn up the ground with an iron implement. The sod was then burnt into ashes which they used as manure. They did this so well that after six weeks they would have new potatoes. This was nearly a hundred years ago.
