    There is another man who lives in our townland named John Conlon who was a great long and high jumper when he was a young man.
    He was coming from Mass one Sunday with a crowd of other young men, and they began to talk about jumping rivers. One of the men said he would give ten Shillings to any man who would jump the river at Clogher bridge.
    None of the crowd were able to it but this man I mentioned jumped it without the least trouble.
