  1. Long ago in Ireland the people believed in Leprechauns, fairies, and other evil spirits. Tradition tells us that there was a Leprachaun seen in this vicinity some years ago.
One night as a man Hanly was returning home from a neighbour's house he was supposed to have captured a Leprachaun. It was a moonlight night and the Leprachaun was sitting under a tree, dressed in a red coat and hat. When the man saw him he rushed at him. He ordered him, to hand him a purse of gold or he would take his life, but the Leprachaun made no reply. Then, said the fairy, "what is that I see over yonder". The man looked in the direction shown him by the fairy, but when he turned, the fairy had vanished and he was never seen again.
