    Stories
    I used to hear the people sitting around the fire on a Winters night tell many old stories about such things as Tir na nÓg, An Fear Bocht, the Goban Saor and several other subjects I do not however remember the stories well enough to re-tell them. A favorite story told by more than one old person was the "Prophesy of Saint Columbkill." Here is all I remember of it.
    Saint Columbkill was gifted with the spirit of prophesy. This fact was not known till one day when he and another cleric were sitting outside the monastery, a savage Irishman came along in full chase after a young maiden who was running at full speed, to the monastery for protection. The savage came up with her for a few yards where the holy clerics were sitting. He plunged his spear through
