  1. The name of the district in which I live is Rathbarron. It is in the parish of Killoran and the barony of Leyny. There is about forty-four people living here. The family name which is most common is McCarrick. The majority of the houses are slated but there are three thatched.
    There is an old fort which is beside the church about from which I live a quarter of a mile from which the place got it name.
    There are nine old people living here out of which only one can tell stories.
