  1. At length, brave Michael Dwyer you and your trusty men are hunted o'er the mountains and traced unto a glen
Sleep not but watch and listen O'Bradaigh "blawed" and "Bawl"
For the soldiers know we'er hiding tonight in wild Imál.
The soldiers searches the valley on towards the dawn of day
Discovered where the outlaws those dauntless rebels lay
Around the little cottage they formed into a ring,
And they cried out "Michael Dwyer surrender to the king
Thus answered Michael Dwyer into this house we came,
And as for those who own it, they cannot be to blame
So let those peaceful people on question pass you through,
And when they are placed in safety I'll tell you what to do,
And this been done, said Dwyer, your work you may begin,
You are a hundred outside with only four within,
We heard your haughty summons and this is our reply,
We're famed United Irishmen we'll fight until we die,
Then burst the walls with lighting in poured the leader rain,
The hills around re-echoed with thunder peals again,
The soldiers falling round him brave Dwyer seized with pride
But ah! One gallant comrade lies wounded by his side.
And yet there are three remaining good battle still to do,
Their hands are strong and steady their aim is quick and true
But hark! in fury shouting, the savage soldiers yelled,
The house is fired around them, the roof is in a blaze,
Out spoke the brave Mc Allister! the weak and wounded man,
You can escape! my comrades, and this will be your plan,
