- Tottenham was our landlord. He was about eighty years in Glenfarne. He was a very bad landlord. He would evect every man and woman who would not pay his or her rent. Everywhere in this district evections took place. He would put them out of their good land and give them bad land. It was divided in small farms. If he saw any person having a good crop he would make the rent bigger. One day a little boy was fishing in the river with a line and a pin for a hook and Tottenham caught him and put him in jail for a week.
