    Old Games and Guesses
    The dances were in the barns and the music they had was a fiddle. The light was the inside of a rush in a slit of fir in an old cam in the corner. The games they played outside was caman and hand ball. The way the old women spent the night was gather into a house and spend the night spinning and carding wool. They would spend a night in this house and a night in some other house. These are a few of the games the children played. One lady two lady three lady fam, [?] viniger English man kooxy keeny English Mary kink pink barley you do stink. The one which is giving out this game says one of these things on everyones foot and whoever it falls on has to put out their foot and if they do not put it out quick enough they will get a slake of soot. The priest of the parish he lost his hat some says this and some says that but I say my boy Jack. Then boy Jack would be called and every other one would take a name what ever it would be. The person would be giving out the game would come around again if you would not
