    because in Summer - time the milk is more plentiful.
    It takes us about a half hour to do the churning in our house but other people say that it takes them an hour to make it. I think this depends on the breed of cattle. Boiling water is added to the milk when churning is about half done so that the butter may come on the milk more quickly. This addition of water is always done in Winter time.
    In making a churning we always move the churndash up and down with the hand until the butter is made. Then the churndash is moved more gently for about ten minutes.
