  1. Churning
Our churn is about twenty inches high, and forty six inches in circumference. It is about seven years old, and there are five hoops on it. Milk is churned in it by means of a churn-dash. It takes about thirty-five minutes to make a churning. It is quite easy to tell when a churning is made - the milk does not adhere to the dash, as it does when it is first put in, the dash is quite clear. The butter is then taken out of the churn, washed and salted and made into a big round.
