  1. In former times people did not wear shoes or boots until they reached the age of twelve years. The children here go bare-footed in Summer and they wear boots in Winter. The water left after washing the feet is thrown away. Boots are not made locally but are repaired. There are two shoemakers in the district.
    Clogs were worn long ago and they are still worn now.
