The abbot awoke and told the other monks who hastened to the spot as the vision directed. They uncovered a rock and immediately water flowed out in abundance. News of the miraculous find was communicated to the besiegers. Teige, the Tanist, insisted on seeing the water. He was admitted. A drop of the water fell on him and he died in terrible torture that night. His father raised the siege and died at Kincora within a month.
(Note:- This does not correspond with the account of Turlogh's death or that of his son, Teige, as given in "Memoir of the O'Briens." He (Torlogh) caused his soldiers to disinter the body of his foe, Conor O'Meloghlin who was buried in Clonmacnoise and bring the head to him. This was done and when the head was brought to him he was stricken with a lingerling illness of which he died. His son Teige died in a month after him. The dates correspond though)
