    comes out and sees his shadow he will go in and sleeps for three months. If there is a river of black water in the lake it is a sign of rain, or if there is a fog hanging over a lake it is a sign of rain.
    If the fones bark much in October it denotes a heavy fall of snow. If August is cool and July warm it is a sign of a bad Winter.
    When the cat washes her face over her ears it is a sign of rain. When the cat lies in the sun in February she'l creep to the hearthstone in March. It is said that January the fourteeneth will be either the coldest or the wettest day in the year.
    If the robins come into the house or to the window searching for bread it is a sign of a hard Winter.
    If the apple trees bloom in March there will be no apples in Autumn.
