  1. Poll na nGad
    Poll na nGad is situated in East Noan. It is a cave with many passages in it. There is a stream running from Upper Noan into the cave, and all the water from the fields around flow into it and form a great sheet of water. It cannot be seen now, as the bushes and land have closed it up.
    The water which flows into it goes under ground to Lungoe and it rises about the ground in many places there, and also rises in the field opposite the New Cottages, and flows across the road, usually in heavy rain. There is a story told about the cave:
    A long time ago a man was murdered, and six or seven men were arrested for the murder of this man. These men were found guilty, and five of them were flogged. But the other two, who were brothers, were transported to Spike - Island for life. These boys were named Ryan. After many years they escaped out of prison in some clever way which was never found out, and they came to Co. Tipperary. They went about the county until they came to Poll na nGad. They lived in the cave for some time. One day a fox hunt was on around the place, there was a gentleman at the hunt who was a ruler
