1. A Fairy Fort

   There is a fairy fort at Erne Hill about a quarter of a mile from Belturbet. It is square in shape and there are trees growing all round it. It is called the children's fort because the children go and get the apples every year from an apple tree that grows in the centre of the fort.
   One night a man on his way home went through the fort and he went round and round and thought he was on the homeward road all the time. In the morning when he found he was still in the fort he turned his coat inside out and he got out.
