    lives in Barrack Hill. Some people wear clogs in Winter in this district.
    It is considered unlucky to throw out the water in which feet are washed until after sunset. It is always kept in the house until the next day.
    Leather has never been tanned in this district. In summer a good many wear sandals. It is good for the feet to wash them in bog-water.
    Most people nowadays wear shoes. Very few wear boots and it is difficult to get suitable boots in the shops. In wet weather a good many wear 'Wellingtons".
    About fifty years ago shoemakers used to go from house to house staying a while in each to make boots or shoes for each members of the family.
